(*) Quando
due anni e mezzo fa, maggio 2023, Loris mi disse che stava ricevendo
una donazione di un enorme archivio fotografico
(un'intera stanza), mi
offrii, nel caso ne
avesse bisogno, di aiutarlo a rendere pubblico questo archivio degli
anni 50.
E fu così
che arrivò
con il primo dei tanti borsoni, si grosse borse, quelle che si
usano per la spesa, perché era così che ricevevo
le buste
con le foto che altrimenti si sarebbero perse fra le pieghe degli anni.
Impiegammo un po' di
tempo per
visionare il tesoretto e le prime immagini scansionate ci "gasarono”al punto che proseguire diventava quasi
imperativo.
E fu così
che iniziò
questa“avventura”e la prima scansione "ufficiale" è stata eseguita il 14
giugno 2023 e
l'ultima il 22 giugno 2025.
Due anni di lavoro ma
anche di
emozioni, con qualche difficoltà riscontrata qua e
là per
il deterioramento talvolta profondo causato dal tempo,
ma tanto
entusiasmo nel rendere nel miglior modo possibile la correzione di
parecchi fotogrammi. Non tutte le correzioni hanno avuto un
esito
positivo ma tutte le immagini sono state comunque scansionate.
Per dovere di cronaca
alcune
foto compaiono due o più volte perchè
l'archivio
non era ordinato ma in ordine sparso.
Oggi siamo giunti
quasi al termine
del lavoro, dico quasi, perché sono rimaste fuori dal lavoro
tutte quelle foto che non potevano essere
scansionate con i mezzi
tecnici che avevamo.
Infatti le pellicole
piane superiori al formato 6x9 (e sono decine di migliaia) sono state accantonate per tempi
migliori (mai dire mai).

Two and a half years ago, in May 2023, Loris told me he was about to
receive a donation of a vast photographic archive.
I offered to help
him make this archive from the 1950s public, should he need it.
And so it happened that he arrived with the first of many bags, the
kind used for shopping, filled with envelopes of photographs
that would
otherwise have been lost in the folds of time.
It took us some time to examine this treasure, and the first scanned
images got us so excited that soon continuing felt almost imperative.
And so this “adventure” began , with the first
“official” scan carried out on June 14, 2023, and
the last
on June 22, 2025.
Two years of work, but also of emotions. There were some difficulties
here and there along the way, due to the sometimes severe
deterioration
caused by the passage of time. Still, there was great enthusiasm in
restoring and correcting the images as best as possible.
Not all
corrections were successful, but all photographs were nonetheless
scanned.
For the sake of accuracy, some photos appear two or more times, as the
archive was not originally organized but in a random order.
Today we have almost reached the end of the work. I say almost because
all those photographs that could not be scanned with the
technical
means available to us have been left out.
In fact, flat film formats larger than 6×9 were set aside for
better times (never say never)
